May the 4th be with you, and also with ADAKC!
The Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County is hoping you won’t choose the dark side this May 4th, but instead choose the sweet side and support the ADAKC’s mission.
With the help of some local residents, and the 501st Legion, they went to a galaxy far, far away to celebrate the day.
ADAKC is just one of dozens of local non profits raising money.
They are working in partnership with Krispy Kreme today.
For every dozen donuts purchased, ADAKC will receive 50% of the funds.
“Our goal with Give Big Kern is to raise a thousand dollars. That may not sound like much but that adds up for us to be able to support more than 50 families here in Kern County,” said ADAKC Executive Director Janelle Capra. “And, so that’s what we are trying to do today. Every dollar will add up and it helps to keep it local as well.”
