Our New Home

Initially founded as a support group for families facing the challenges of Alzheimer's disease, ADAKC's mission of respite services, education and support to caregivers rings true to this day. In 1984, ADAKC was licensed by the state of California to provide Adult Day Services to our community. ADAKC is the only non-profit agency in Kern County that provides a social model day care and respite program that specifically targets individuals with Alzheimer's and their families and caregivers. We provide social and cognitive stimulation for persons diagnosed, while offering much-needed socialization. We also help families and caregivers navigate the shifting landscape of their daily lives throughout the progression of the disease. ADAKC services enables families to stay together longer.

More than 10,000 people in Kern County suffer from Alzheimer's or other types of dementia. As the population ages, these numbers will continue to grow. ADAKC is currently licensed to serve 45 seniors at our facility. We are busting at our seams as the need for our services increases. Our new facility will triple the capacity to meet the growing needs of our community.

The new facility will be located in the Seven Oaks Business Park on Buena Vista Rd. & Campus Park. A gated senior-living community is planned adjacent to our new location. This site will lend itself to opportunities for intergenerational activities and projects as well. The estimated cost of construction for our 13,000 square foot facility is approximately $3.5 million. Our goal is to raise $3.5-$4 million over a two year period. Your help is needed to make this dream a reality for families in our community suffering with this disease. Donations can be made and naming rights are available.
